The Australia-Korea Business Council (AKBC) is pleased to announce that it will be hosting a breakfast briefing event aligned with the Australian Hydrogen Conference (West) on Wednesday 7 December 2022 in Perth.

Peter Coleman, Chair, H2EX

Peter Coleman has more than 38 years’ of experience in the global energy industry, covering Asia, the Americas, Africa and Australasia. He is a highly regarded Chairman, Director, advisor and corporate leader whose insights, experience and forward focused leadership is actively sought after within Australia and overseas.

Informed by his 11 years as Managing Director and Chief Executive Officer of Woodside Energy Ltd, Peter has particularly unique insights into the challenges and opportunities presented by the transition to a clean energy future.  Drawing on these insights, his cutting-edge experience and forward-focused leadership Peter now holds leading positions across the suite of industries and technologies critical to the globe’s pathway to net-zero.

Dr. Fiona Simon, CEO, Australian Hydrogen Council (AHC)

Fiona Simon is the CEO of the Australian Hydrogen Council (AHC), the peak body for the Australian hydrogen industry.

AHC connects the hydrogen industry and its stakeholders in building a secure, clean and resilient energy future based on hydrogen. AHC’s members are from a range of sectors, including energy, transport, consulting, banking and technology.

Prior to joining the Australian Hydrogen Council, Fiona worked for close to 20 years in energy policy and regulation, specialising in energy retail competition and consumer protection matters.

Fiona holds a Bachelor of Arts and a Doctor of Philosophy from the University of Melbourne. She has published a well-regarded academic book on retail energy regulation in Australia.

Daniel (Yung Moo) Kwon, Managing Director, POSCO Western Australia

Peter Cleary, Director, Australia-Korea Business Council

Peter is now pursuing a portfolio of opportunities as an Adviser and Board Member. Peter moved from executive life when he left Santos at the end of 2015 where he helped two commercial Vice President positions. Prior to Santos, Peter enjoyed a 24- year career with BP where he held senior management positions in Australia, Indonesia, Korea, Hong Kong, Abu Dhabi and the United Kingdom. Prior to joining Santos, Peter was the President of North West Shelf Australia LNG. Peter is currently a member of the Executive Committee of the Australia Korea Business Council and the Australia Japan Business Co-operation Committee. Peter Cleary is also the Chair of the AKBC Energy sub-committee.

 

 

The AKBC has identified hydrogen sector as one of its six major priority areas where we see the most potential in the Australia-Korea bilateral relationship. This networking event aims to bring together industry leaders to share ideas on articulating the opportunities and gaps between Australia-Korea hydrogen sector. This event aims to bring together key stakeholders to shares ideas on exploring latest emerging projects, challenges, and opportunities for the rapidly expanding sector.
