AKBC Priority Sectors

Australia and Korea share one of the Indo-Pacific’s most dynamic and strategically important bilateral partnerships - built on strong trade, investment, energy security, innovation, and people-to-people links. Korea is Australia’s fourth-largest trading partner and third-largest export market, with two-way trade exceeding A$67 billion in 2024. The Korea-Australia Free Trade Agreement (KAFTA) has further strengthened commercial ties, supporting increased market access, investment, and business collaboration between the two countries.

Australia remains a trusted partner for Korea across energy, critical minerals, food and agriculture, advanced manufacturing, defence, education, financial services, and emerging technologies. At the same time, Korean companies continue to expand investment in Australia across resources, infrastructure, clean energy, batteries, manufacturing, construction, and innovation-driven industries.

AKBC’s Priority Sectors connect members directly with senior leaders, industry experts, investors, government stakeholders, and decision-makers shaping the future of the Australia-Korea relationship. Designed to support practical business outcomes, our sector engagement platform helps members strengthen networks, identify opportunities, understand market trends, and build long-term partnerships across the Australia-Korea corridor.

While AKBC facilitates engagement across a range of strategic priority sectors, our work is not limited to these areas alone. We work broadly across industries that strengthen bilateral trade, investment, innovation, policy, and commercial collaboration, responding to emerging opportunities and the evolving needs of our members.
