Hayley Edwards leads Membership for the Australia-Korea Business Council (AKBC), based in Western Australia. Drawing on a multidisciplinary career spanning defence, diplomacy, elected office, and the private sector, Hayley specialises in high-level stakeholder relationship management and intergovernmental liaison. Her expertise lies in navigating the complex intersections of public policy and private enterprise to facilitate commercial and strategic outcomes.
Her remit includes lead responsibility for Commonwealth and State Government engagement, specifically managing high-stakes correspondence and partnerships with key federal agencies, including the Department of Foreign Affairs and Trade (DFAT), the Department of Industry, Science and Resources (DISR), and the Department of Climate Change, Energy, the Environment and Water (DCCEEW). By engaging at the Secretary and Deputy Secretary levels, Hayley ensures that AKBC members are strategically positioned within the broader bilateral policy framework.
Hayley holds an MBA in Energy and Minerals Management from The University of Western Australia, alongside postgraduate qualifications in policy and politics. This academic foundation, combined with extensive experience in international relations and the non-profit sector, allows her to provide sophisticated business intelligence and advocacy for members operating in critical minerals, energy transition, and advanced manufacturing. Based in Perth, she is committed to strengthening the commercial and cultural ties that underpin the Australia-Korea economic partnership.
