The Australia-Korea Business Council is hosting a half-day roundtable event focussed on enhancing the outcomes from the New Colombo Plan in Korea, between 9.00am to 12.00pm on Friday 3rd May 2019 in Melbourne OR via webex (if unable to travel).
Having noted an increase in enquiries received by Australian universities for assistance regarding their work and study plans in South Korea over the past couple of years, the formation of this roundtable aims to bring together individuals and organisations familiar with South Korea to share their experiences, and explore strategies to provide the best experience for students travelling to Korea.
Key Issues
The Australia-Korea Business Council has recently received numerous enquiries from Australian universities requesting assistance with their Korea-related NCP activities, stemming from a variety of challenges faced by Australian students studying in South Korea. The roundtable event seeks to engage with university contacts to share their perspectives and experiences to ensure that students can make the most of their time in Korea. The agenda has been informed by preliminary consultation from university contacts and NCP alumni.

How can you contribute?
Your input and participation at the roundtable would be greatly appreciated so that we can work together to overcome common issues and provide prospective NCP recipients and study abroad students with a more rewarding experience. In doing so we aim to create a toolkit to address the aforementioned matters while introducing unique in-country facets of customs, culture, transportation, and digital engagement - in easing their integration into Korean society. It is anticipated that the outcomes from the roundtable will also be documented via a short publicly available report, which will help universities strive towards a best practice model for supporting NCP and study abroad students in South Korea.
