CJ is starting Kimchi production in Australia

πŸ“’ NEWS πŸ“’

CJ CheilJedang, one of Korea’s biggest food manufacturers, is starting Kimchi production in Australia under their brand Bibigo. CJ will be selling locally-made Kimchi alongside Kimchi exported from Korea. This is a response to the increasing demand for freshly made kimchi in Australia, utilising locally sourced ingredients to differentiate these products from traditional Korean exports.

Kimchi, a fundamental element of Korean cuisine, holds significant cultural importance beyond being just a dish. The availability of 900g packages of Australian-produced Kimchi suggests a rising trend of Australians embracing Korean food, not only in restaurants but also in their homes.

As Australians increasingly explore Korean culinary traditions, we see K-food becoming a pivotal link between the two cultures. This growing interest in Korean culture through food has the potential to strengthen the connection between Australia and Korea.
