Young Yu is the Managing Director of MGM O’Connor Corporate Advisory, a seasoned business advisor with extensive experience in corporate finance, consulting, trade, and international business across both private and public sectors in Australia and Korea.
Young specializes in international business development, cross-cultural communication, and stakeholder engagement between Australian and Korean organizations, particularly in the mining, energy resources, and international trade and investment sectors. His ability to navigate complex regulatory frameworks, investment landscapes, and cross-border partnerships has made him a trusted advisor for companies looking to expand between Australia and Korea.
Prior to his current role, Young served as Senior Advisor – National Leader: Korean Services Group at Deloitte Australia, where he played a key role in facilitating international trade and investment between the two countries. His expertise in foreign direct investment (FDI) strategies, market entry consulting, and risk assessment enabled Korean enterprises to establish successful operations in Australia’s energy, infrastructure, and resource industries.
From 2004 to 2012, Young served the Australian and WA governments in Korea as Trade Commissioner and WA Government Representative Commissioner. In these roles, he was responsible for attracting investment, promoting bilateral trade, and strengthening government-to-government relations. His leadership was instrumental in securing strategic partnerships in key industries such as mining, energy, and technology.
