You-il Lee is Associate Professor of International Business and Director of the King Sejong Institute Adelaide at the University of South Australia.
You-il is a political economist and has published research on socio-economic and political changes caused by globalisation and regionalism in Asia and has published widely in leading journals in the areas of Asian Studies, Asian business management and Asian political economy. His latest book is The Political Economy of New Regionalism in Northeast Asia: Dynamics and Contradictions (Routledge, London Forthcoming 2018). You-il is currently working on two further monographs: The Korean Political Economy: From Growth to Maturity and The Impact of Foreign Multinational Corporations in Korea.
You-il has taught and coordinated courses on Asian political economy, international business/management, and cross-cultural management, and currently teaches post-graduate courses as part of the UniSA Business School’s 5-star MBA and International MBA programs.
You-il also has considerable experience in advising companies and government departments on a range of Asian business environment, policy issues and Australia’s engagement with contemporary Asia and met with over 200 CEOs of multinational corporations over the years.
You-il has served as the President of the Korean Studies Association of Australasia (KSSA) between 2011 and 2015. He is also a member of the Australia-New Zealand International Business Academy (ANZIBA), the European Association of Evolutionary Political Economy (EAEPE), the Academy of International Business (AIB) and the Society for the Advancement of Socio-Economics (SASE).
