Korean baseball team, the Doosan Bears, visited Geelong to play against Team Australia in February this year. It was a rare opportunity for Team Australia to gain experience by playing the champions of the 2019 Korea Baseball Organization (KBO) League season as part of their warm-up games before Olympic qualifying games. Off the pitch, the Doosan Bears met some friendly kangaroos and other Australian animals at the Ballarat Wildlife Park.
The Doosan Bears’ visit to Australia is a prime example of how sports diplomacy provides opportunities for cultural exchanges and international brand exposure by hosting a team at your organisation.
