[AKBC Member Introduction] QIMR Berghofer

The Australia-Korea Business Council is pleased to welcome and introduce our new member, QIMR Berghofer Medical Research Institute.

QIMR Berghofer is one of Australia’s largest and most successful medical research institutes. Since its establishment 75 years ago, the Institute has grown to become a world leader in researching cancer, infectious diseases, mental health and chronic disorders.

QIMR Berghofer is home to approximately 1000 scientists, support staff and students. Researchers in the Institute’s four departments (Immunology, Cell Biology, Genetics & Computational Biology, and Population Health) consistently generate high-quality output (each year more than 700 publications, ~40 000 citations and ~20 clinical trials underway).

QIMR Berghofer is a founding member of the Brisbane Diamantina Health Partners, an accredited Advanced Health Research and Translation Centre, and sits within the Herston Health Precinct in inner Brisbane, co-located with the Royal Brisbane & Women’s Hospital and the clinical schools of the University of Queensland and Queensland University of Technology.
