Background

The 2019 Australia-Korea Symposium on enhancing and enriching the Australia-Korea business and cultural relationship will be held at the Korean Cultural Centre in Sydney on 29 and 30 May 2019, with the opening reception held on Wednesday 29 May and the full day of Symposium followed by cocktail reception held on Thursday 30 May.

The event is co-organised by the Australia-Korea Business Council and the University of South Australia’s Business School and sponsored by the Academy of Korean Studies (Korean Government), the Department of Foreign Affairs and Trade of Australia, the Korean Cultural Centre Sydney and the King Sejong Institute Foundation Korea. The purpose of the Symposium is to bring together a small group of leaders in the Australia-Korea relationship to discuss trends in the bilateral relationship and areas where the relationship can be enhanced, including investment, education, tourism and culture and also the role the future generation of business leaders can play as the future custodians of the relationship. Building on the success of previous years, this is the third time that this Symposium will be held.
